Day 22 …

For years and years, it had always been my dream to ride a motorcycle, ever since the beginning of high school. And for years and years, I had begged my mother to let me. Being a mother, she obviously aggressively denied such a ludicrous idea. Without getting into the story of where I am with it now just yet, I was finally able to cross this off my bucket list May of last year. I finally said to myself, there’s no time like now so just do it.
Many of my friends had suggested Pacific Riding School and so I went ahead and registered. Less than two months later, I was fully certified to ride on my own at any time of the day. Like I say, able and willing. If you’re interested in this, you should really check the school out and see what they have to offer. I highly recommend it and the instructors and staff are incredible people. Mark Kruger, more known as Kramer, is absolutely awesome. He’s hilarious and fun yet he strongly wants you to be safe and to succeed. Anyone can learn how to ride, it’s about being safe and being fully prepared for the worst situations.
Which leads up to today. Kaz told me about the Vancouver Motorcycle Show that was happening this weekend at the Tradex, the Trade and Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford. Since he couldn’t make it, I dragged the usual suspects along. Because I’ve been to MotoGP, I don’t think any show or exhibition can really phase me. If you ever get a chance to check out a MotoGP event, I highly advise you to do it. It is absolutely incredible and an amazing experience. My favourite part was definitely running into the guys from PRS at their booth. Kramer made me sit on a Ninja (the bike I’m thinking of getting) and made the girls take turns sitting on the back. We really did not want to do this because I had said earlier that I hated it when people pose on bikes. Let’s just say we weren’t posing, more like getting fitted for when riding season comes around
After the show, we dropped Michelle off while Steph and I tried desperately to find a massage parlour. I don’t know what it was but we just needed one really bad. Unfortunately, no success. Most of the places that close later on Sundays are Asian joints and it was Chinese New Year’s Eve that night. Wahhh.
To end the night, Mish and I reconvened to continue our bowling wars with our bowling frenemies at Xcalibur in Surrey. If you’re ever looking for a fun place to hang out on a Sunday night, it’s the spot to be. Food, drinks, great music and fun! Right now, we’re tied with the guys. Their first game is always better than the second, which is when we start to get warmed up. Until the next bowling series …
